I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, eventually becoming a professional artist/tutor quite a number of years ago.
My love was always sketching and illustrating with a passion for painting and colour coming later. Exploring art in its various forms and mediums was always a revelation in itself, as did expressions of styles and techniques, each one with its own rewards.
I was extremely pleased to win the Hilda Hayes trophy a number of years ago for a watercolour painting - 'Rutland Water Peninsular' when first becoming a member of the Peterborough Art Society, and soon after becoming the Secretary of that Society for a time.

I developed five different art groups in the Peterborough area, although these have now been consolidated into three, due to my Husband and I moving to the coast more recently where I started up a local group here in Skegness, and hope to start others in the near future. All of my groups are very informal, where the social side is as important as the art. I provide various exercises and I regularly demonstrate techniques and complete step-by-step compositions, all of which are suited for pure beginners to the more experienced alike. I cover most mediums including watercolour, pastels, oils, acrylics, pen and wash, pencils and more.
I also run regular (usually monthly) day art workshops, in various mediums, the most popular being acrylics and oils. Art events now include our annual 2-day workshop at the Southview Park Hotel here on the coast. They are very well attended and thoroughly enjoyable.
If you would like to attend one of my art groups or workshops please get in touch.
